More About Coach Christopher

I have been training and coaching players for 5+ years. During my playing career at The Ohio State University I helped coach at multiple D1 coaching symposiums. During my professional career I trained young players ranging from the ages of 5-17. I have trained with and played for some of the best coaches in the United States as well as Europe, Africa, and South America. My coaching style focuses heavily on technique, repetition, and growing comfortably with the ball and dexterity with both feet. My players learn to enjoy the game whilst building confidence in their abilities and expanding their skill set.

As a Cameroonian-American in high school, I played for the DC United U16 and U18 teams whilst being a member of the US National U18 and U20 teams from 2007-2009 before I was recruited to play for The Ohio State University. I played 4 seasons at Ohio State winning both BIG Ten Conference and Tournament titles and accumulating honors in each of my seasons for my standout play. Most notable was becoming the first player in Ohio State history to win BIG Ten Offensive Player of the Year in 2011. After my 2012 season I was selected in the 3rd round of the 2013 MLS Draft by the Portland Timbers. I spent my 2014 season with DC United.

Typically, I go through some basic individual drills to asses the level and skills that the client posses and also skills that he/she lacks. Afterwards, I explain them what my assessment of their skills is and what I believe we should work on, as well as ask what they have in their mind and what aspects they would like themselves to excel. Based on this organic process, I create sessions. that are intense but detail oriented, with lots of repetition. Also, I gradually increase the repetition and the intensity of specific drills in order to create progress and make it visible to the client as well. It is important for me to keep the drills interesting and fun for a client. I truly believe proper growth and development can come through enjoyment and understanding of one's craft.

Client Reviews

Great coaching session.

Christopher has only been training my son (Tiger) and daughter (Gigi) for 2 weeks and they already are excited for his training sessions ahead of time. His training methods are fun and also flexible to help the kids with skills they want to improve on. We luckily stumbled onto him through a friend and are happy to have him training our kids.
Christopher is a joy to work with. He is attentive, well spoken and enthusiastic. He has been very nurturing with our son Shiva and his attention to detail has helped Shiva improve is confidence in his skills and knowledge of the game.
