More About Coach Christopher

I currently coach at the JV level with 3 years experience. I have done a number of free training sessions for local club teams (U-12 and under). I prefer coaching at the high school level or lower.

I played club soccer growing up for multiple clubs surrounding the Madison area. I participated in the Olympic Development Program, representing team Wisconsin. I was unanimous all conference at McFarland High School (soph-senior year), Second team All-State (senior year). I went on to play college soccer at UW-Platteville (2008-2012), where I started 4 years as a central midfielder. I also played amateur level soccer for the Madison 56ers NPSL team (2008-2013). I was a regular starter for the 56ers as a left back. In 2012, we made it to the NPSL Final Four in San Diego, capturing 3rd Place. Participated in the US Open Cup in
the spring of 2013 where we fell to now MLS team, Minnesota United, 2-1. I continue to play for fun in mens leagues around the Madison area.

A typical session would be geared towards needs of the specific player, focusing on technique and speed of play. It's one thing to be able to do certain things at your own pace, but another thing to be able to do those things at a faster - game like pace. I strive to motivate and inspire the individual to give it their all at every training sessions. For younger players, I'll focus more on speed of play and technical abilities (Dribbling, Passing, Shooting). For older players, while incorporating the technical aspect, I will also focus on tactics that will improve their knowledge of the game while honing certain skills geared towards their position.
