More About Coach Christina
I am a certified Junior Olympic Developmental Coach, Trampoline and Tumbling & Womens Artistic Gymnastics.I have experience training gymnasts at the compulsory Levels 1-5, optional levels 7-10 and currently working towards my level 7/8 judges rating. I hold a Category III Rating for Trampoline in USA Gymnastics.
I have over 20 years experience in gymnastics as an athlete, instructor, coach and personal trainer. I have a passion for gymnastics and keep up with new trends and choreography for women's gymnastics. I have several certifications through USA Gymnastics, including Fitness, Hands on Training, Sport Science ect.
I am currently coaching TOPs and helping gymnasts achieve their goals in gymnastics, whether is be to make the National TOPs Team, or compete a level up next season.
I trained for 8 years as a competitive gymnast, before taking my tumbling talents to cheerleading, where I was a top choreographer and tumbler for my competitive squad.
Focus on goal setting for performance enhancement. I start with an evaluation of the gymnasts current physical abilities, including strength and flexibility. Then I assess basic skills and use the results to create a session plan that will increase performance.
Proper warm up, skill progression demonstration, error detection & correction. Setting realistic, SMART goals.
TOPs Session:
General endurance warm-up followed by basic conditioning(15 minutes). Beam complex warm-up (10 minutes), followed by power tumbling drills and skills (10 minutes).
1-on-1 work on skills/event of the gymnasts choice for (15 minutes)
Flexibility & Deep Stretching/Cool Down & Goal Review (15 minutes)
