I typically ask for areas that the player wants to work on first. Then I run them through some testing to check their current techniques and areas for improvements.
when teaching skills, I break each skill into 5 stages to really hone in on the technique.
Shooting sessions I focus on approach and body dynamic. I teach players how to hit with accuracy v power etc
