In my playing career, youth National Teams, Academies and College, I have noticed technical ability separates players as they develop, hence my major focus in all my sessions. View all coaching experience

More About Coach Charlton
I am currently coaching two SFC New England ( Winchester Sachems) teams in Winchester Ma and an Assistant Coach for the D1 Northeastern Men's Soccer team. My two teams are u10s and u13s whilst the university players ages range from 18-22. Prior to working with SFC I worked with Lightning Soccer Club in NH.
I played Division 1 soccer for Northeastern University Men's Soccer team for four years, coming out with the most appearances of anyone in my graduation in class. Growing up in Zimbabwe, I was called up to the Junior National team u13-17. I played club soccer for Caps United Academy, u10s-u17s. Caps United is a well known club in Africa, as the first team usually makes it to the African Champions league. I was recruited via a grassroots tournament to come to the United States and played at Kimball Union Academy (NH). Whilst in college I was also recruited to play for Reading United in PA. Reading United was ranked the number 1 PDL team in the Northeast. With reading I had a chance to play in the Open Cup against NY Cosmos, Harrisburg and friendly games against Philadelphia Union and DC United.
My main focus is to improve a player's technical ability. For there to be a soccer game wether its 1v1 or 1v11 during school lunch hour or at practice, there has to be a ball. I want to make players as comfortable as possible technically on the ball. A session starts with ball work in a tight space to get as many touches as possible using every part of the foot and both feet. I then open it up to a bigger space in which I'm involved in the work whether its one v one defending for defenders, or attackers going to goal (finishing crossing etc). The most important thing is to be comfortable and technically improving players.

Thuli (Testimonial)
Coach Charlton worked with my son and his friend before their tryouts. They enjoyed how much coach was into the sessions. He pushed them to do their best but also made sure they were having fun whilst doing it. His sessions were well organized and easy to understand as he built on from one thing to another through each session. We are excited to work with him this summer.
