More About Coach Brittany

I have had the pleasure of coaching all age groups from t-ball to high school girls. In high school, we worked with Challenger Baseball, which is an organization that allows children with special needs to have the opportunity to play baseball/softball with the high school student athletes. I also coached summer camp while attending Venice High School, in Venice, Florida.
During my Freshman year at UCF, I volunteered to help coach at the Jenny Finch camp in Orlando, Florida.
I gained the majority of my experience from coaching girls in hitting, fielding, pitching and base running for 4 years in high school and another 2 years in college.
I specialize in hitting, fielding and base running but was also a pitcher until I was 14 years old and I have taught pitching, as well.
My goal with coaching to is help girls meet their goals and help them to a college scholarship, should that be something they are interested in. Softball, as with all sports, has the uncanny ability to teach how to handle success and failure, both on and off the field. These are life lessons that will be used all throughout life, and helping girls be successful both at softball and life is my greatest joy.

As a former Division I and II softball player (UCF and University of Tampa), I have the ability to connect with athletes of all ages. I played shortstop until my freshman year of college and then I transferred to first base, after tearing my ACL. I was also the clean-up hitter at the University of Tampa. I was fortunate to receive two full scholarships to both UCF and UT.
Starting First-baseman at University of Tampa (2009-2011)
Conference USA Champions (2008)
4 year Letter Winner at Venice High School (2004-2007)
Dick Vitale's Athlete of the Year Finalist (2007)
Sarasota County Best of the Best, across all spring sports (2007)

Hitting Lessons:
Warm-up (Stretching, running)
Swing Breakdown - dry swings, what exactly needs to be worked on
Tee Drills - bottom hand only swing on one knee and standing, lower body and upper body moving together
Soft-pitch - toss from side and behind and hit into the field or a net
Front Toss
Machine work - if available

Fielding Lessons:
Warm-up (stretching/running and throwing)
Pancake glove drills - works on soft hands
Throwing drills - wrist snaps, arm snaps, ball in front on the ground/come up throwing
Long toss
Fielding of the bat - in fielding position
Situational plays - visual. For example, I would say runner at 2nd and hit the ball up the middle, player would field the ball and throw to base they think would make the best out.

Baserunning:
Proper standing on the bag
Lead off - rocking start or split start (depending on situation)
Base rounding - shortest line possible
Sliding - sliding straight into bag (head-first/feet-first), backdoor sliding

I was in search of a pitching coach. I found this website. And we did the trial run. But we will use Coach Brittany again. After one day of training my daughter had an awesome game the next day. My daughter was so excited. And gave all her thanks to Coach Brittany. She was very good in that first day . I will continue to use her.

In regard to Coach Brittany, she has been a tremendous resource for my daughter, giving her expert guidance, building confidence and instilling a love for the game. It is rewarding to see her excitement for softball grow with each coaching session, she can hardly wait for team practice to show off her new skills.

My daughter absolutely loves coach Brittany. She's had one lesson so far and was begging her dad to see her 5 times a week. Coach Brittany broke it down step by step to where my daughter felt more confident and just couldn't wait to see her again. I would definitely recommend her.
