More About Coach Brandy
I have been coaching volleyball players from age 7 to older adults for the past 14 years. I played volleyball collegiately for an Iowa junior college, and then played volleyball and ran track for an NAIA college in Iowa.
I coached high school volleyball for four years, and went into coaching club athletes at the 13's, 16's, 17's, and 18's High Performance level. I coached camps at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with my former collegiate coach, who won the Division III NCAA National title shortly after my college career. I have also coached adults in the local adult coed league, and have been a coach at sand volleyball clinics every spring for the past few years. I am also heavily involved with The Orange Planet (TOP) in Pleasant Hill as their personal volleyball trainer, having completed over 100 personal training sessions between CoachUp and TOP. I stay current on coaching a team through a local non-travelling USVBA club volleyball program. I read and research ideas, and attend as many coaching clinics as I can to continue my education towards improving as a coach.

Each athlete brings a unique form that challenges me to develop methods that work for their learning style, and to expose the strengths and weaknesses of any level of athlete, both physically and mentally. I specialize in efficient body mechanics, which means making the athlete as efficient with their own style as possible. While volleyball is best taught through playing the game, there are definitely some of these techniques that can and should be utilized. My philosophy is that no athlete "specializes" under my coaching, regardless of age- I teach the entire game, perhaps focusing on areas where they may be utilized more in a team setting, but allowing the athlete to expand their overall game. I love helping athletes to push themselves past their preconceived mental barriers. I also encourage athletes to work with different coaches, whether for more specialization, a different take on their role, or to focus on an area where someone else may be a better coach for the athlete, such as strength and agility.

Client Reviews
Jody (CoachUp client)
Isabelle actually had sore muscles after her session with Brandy! She learned some new techniques and positions that will really help her advance her game. We look forward to more sessions to come!
Michael (CoachUp client)
Coach Brandy is great. She takes the time to evaluate a student's strength and weaknesses. I have two daughters that I have started taking to see Brandy. She breaks down the moves and isolates the components, works on it, then puts it back together. I saw immediate improvements in both girls.
The feedback from the girls is they really like working with her. Looking forward to more sessions.
Angela (CoachUp client)
We have had a wonderful experience working with Brandy!! My two daughters enjoy working with her and they both said she is super nice and the lessons are lots of fun. I was very impressed with how much she incorporated into one lesson. Her feedback was awesome too. My daughters loved getting their email from her as well and have lots to work on until our next session. I am so thankful we found Brandy, and look forward to more sessions with her.
Lisa (CoachUp client)
Brandy did a good job interacting with my daughter and working on skills. Her feedback was both constructive and positive. I saw improvement in my daughter's skills during the first session.
