More About Coach Bishop
I have trained Male and Female athletes over the course of about 3 years. I have coached participating in both club and high-school being a goalkeeper coach for both. I have also coached groups of players at Yavapai College youth camps. I mainly have worked with individuals in Prescott, Arizona while also down in Queen Creek, Arizona. I am willing to work with any age group starting above the age of 5. The main key points I try to push is effort. Everyone makes mistakes, but if you make one, I want it to be with 100% effort.
I started my soccer career in middle school where I was first a defender and after a year switched to goalkeeper. There I developed my skills and got my team into late playoff rounds but never a championship title. I decided to attend San Tan Foothills High school where I knew I could compete. There I was named team captain my sophomore year and led my team to our first playoff appearance in history. Later I was named MVP while also getting first team all region honors as a goalkeeper which led me to commit to Yavapai College
Every session will be different and truly depends on what the specific player and position they play. I have my sessions at 75 minutes, This will give the player enough time to stretch and get their muscles activated before a session starts. The goal is to have an hour of actual practice and reps while focusing on basic fundamentals like passing, decision making, low diving form, and high diving form. My next goal is to give my player’s confidence, being a goalkeeper is about being mentally strong and confident when going for any ball or giving any command. Players should expect intense sessions with their hands and feet but also an encouraging coach right next to them.
