More About Coach Bailey

I have coached kids of all ages (4 - 22) encompassing beginner-level, middle and high school, and college-level players. In Virginia, I coached individual sessions, team practices, tournaments, summer and spring camps for NOVA Elite travel field hockey team. I also coached indoor practice and tournament sessions with U19 and U16 teams. Additionally, I coached many camps and training sessions of all levels in Williamsburg, Virginia.

I competed at the Division-I collegiate level, playing for the William and Mary Tribe from 2014 - 2018. We competed all around the country as well as internationally. My field hockey career extends for 15 years, where I played for school teams and local teams beginning at age 6, and competed in travel teams since I was 12. I was also a part of the USA Futures teams while I was in high school. I captained my high school team to win the state championship my senior year, and captained my travel team to win the National Indoor Tournament that same year.

To be a good field hockey player is to be a consistent and well-rounded field hockey player. Learning (or re-learning) the fundamentals is key to being the best player you can be. No matter what position you play on the field, defensive and offensive skills are crucial. I use a mix of training both on and off the ball to enhance individual skills as well as field vision and awareness. Stick skills, defensive tackles, shooting on cage, passing, agility, and vision are just some of the many skills I focus on to help you become a consistent, well rounded player. Above all, I do my best to create a fun yet hard-working atmosphere where your only competition is yourself.
