More About Coach Auna
As a Top 25 Division 1 soccer player, Auna regularly coached children of all ages at soccer camps and special events for Brigham Young University, and trained both recreational and nationally competitive athletes. Since completing her college soccer career, she has continued to train elite soccer players.
She currently holds a third-degree brown belt in Kempo Martial Arts, and is a "Sempai," or instructor, to both children and adults of varying skill levels. She believes that the discipline in martial arts training complements her ability to assist players develop their mental soccer game.
Her coaching philosophy aims to help trainees develop a positive winning approach to overcoming obstacles in soccer and in life. In a newspaper article written about her, a college teammate described that “Auna is the single most positive, most influential person on our team, and I think everyone would agree with that." She seeks to help players become successful on and off the field. She once said, "The lessons soccer have taught me are so VALUABLE to me! I am continually striving to apply them in my life and coaching." (http://universe.byu.edu/…/01/auna-doria-keep-moving-forward/)
Auna is a mom of four beautiful children, and her family and faith are her top priority. Soccer training and martial arts are the next highest on her list! She feels excited to share her enthusiasm for soccer and overcoming life's daily difficulties with those she trains.

Every training session, I always focus on foundational soccer skills. I warm up with agility and speed drills with a soccer ball. It is extremely important to build on the basics at ANY level. I keep it fun, competitive and fresh.
The rest of my training session is tailored to technical and tactical developmental needs of the individual or group. I feel it is extremely important to build on a player's unique strengths and build trainee's confidence with positive motivation, not fear. I am very intuitive to training the individual.
I focus on drills to improve any field position (except goal keeper). I have a special system for teaching any player to develop a rocket hard shot. I always ask my clients and their parents what they specifically would like to focus on and get out of their training. I value each of my clients and give them my best effort and attention to maximize their potential and enjoyment of playing soccer!

We’ve had great sessions with Coach Auna and she has been awesome working with our U12 player. Coach Auna has developed customized training sessions to work on the specific areas our player was looking to improve. The training sessions are fast-paced and fun and our player is definitely enjoying them. In addition, Coach Auna is incredibly positive, encouraging and supportive and focuses not only on improving technical skills, but also on the mental side of the game (i.e., staying positive on the pitch, learning from mistakes, working towards goals, etc.). Can’t recommend Coach Auna highly enough!

Auna has been a huge hit with my elementary-aged girls. They absolutely love training with her. My husband and I appreciate Auna’s positivity and feel she’s a strong role model for our girls. Auna also taught them drills which they happily do on their own time. After less than a month, we’ve already seen progress in their technical skills. We recommend Auna without reservation.

Coach Auna was perfect for my daughter. Very energetic, enthusiastic and positive. Plus, intense focus on shooting drills which is exactly what she wanted. Thanks so much!

My kids - 3 boys ranging in age from 8 to 12 - are taking private lessons with Coach Auna and absolutely love her. She's upbeat, task-focused, and able to get each of the boys involved in the training sessions. Coming from less developed soccer programs in Northern New York, Coach Auna is exactly what my kids need to catch up to the level of play in Fairfax County.
Jeff Nielsen (Testimonial)
Coach Auna is an AMAZING soccer talent and coach – and is, remarkably, somehow an even better person. Her sessions are fueled with energy, intensity and positive encouragement. She is thoughtful and creative with respect to each drill, challenging young players and keeping them fully engaged. She was a top-level player herself and brings a wealth of knowledge covering strategy, positioning, technique and the power of mental focus and a positive mindset. You will not find a better coach or role model!
Mindy Janis (Testimonial)
Auna is an exceptionally dedicated coach and an wonderful role model. She always makes you want to strive to be better but feel good about where you are right now.
Jennifer Rockwood (BYU college coach) (Testimonial)
The first thing that stood out as I watched Auna was what you call her engine — her work rate...It is just non-stop. She is such a competitor and she works so hard and that’s a big trait and characteristic that we look for in players when we are recruiting.
Ryan Dance (Testimonial)
Amazing movement and understanding of defensive positioning. Has a great ability to communicate high level technique to any skill level.
Michael Nelson (Testimonial)
Auna is one of the most capable and talented athletes I know. If she was teaching soccer, I would listen up and learn something, guaranteed.
Michon Burton (Testimonial)
