More About Coach Ashley

Welcome!
For the past 5 years I have spent my post-graduate career working in corporate wellness where I focus primary on general health, nutrition, and endurance training with all my clients. In addition, I have spent the last 3 years as an assistant coach with Bethany Lutheran College where I assist as both the men's and women's Cross Country and Track & Field assistant coach. I have assisted athletes at all levels (high school and intercollegiate DI, DII, DII). This passion stemmed while I was involved in intercollegiate athletics at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and grew quickly. I completed several years on both the MNSU cross country and track & field teams. During my time at MNSU, I completed the Nutrition program, as well as the Exercise Science program. This created an opportunity for me to train within the college, both to staff and athletes (hockey, baseball, basketball, football, dance, track, cross country). I was also provided an opportunity to carry out a research study on the effects of supplementation in it's relation to muscular strength. Through my experience and education, I've gained a strong interest in endurance training and sport nutrition, both as it relates to day to day life, and athletic performance. I currently work with both adolescents and adults, ranging in age, athletic abilities, and sport interest. Overall my strengths are sport nutrition, mid-distance, and distance athletics (cross country and track).

I participated in both Cross Country and Track & Field at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I have since continued to compete in races, placing 3rd in the Mankato Marathon 10K in 2016, 5th in the Mankato 1/2 Marathon in 2017, 2nd in the MDRA 7 Miler in 2017, and qualifying for the Boston Marathon on my first attempt in 2018. Running is a passion of mine, and something I hope to invest into others.

Typically I like to start off my session in an open conversation with clients. This will then lead to a collection of medical history, injury history (restrictions), general idea of the individuals schedule, goals, and time commitment. I will then follow up with a nutrient analysis and physical assessment as necessary. Sessions are commonly in combination with nutrition and sport specific training, however, can be tailored to the individuals preference and/or goals.
