More About Coach April

I have 21 years of coaching experience in indoor and sand volleyball ages 9yrs to college level (team and private trainings.) I have coached for multiple junior Olympic programs in Arkansas, Springfield MO. and Ozark MO. I coached at Parkview High School and assisted with the team at Evangel University. I have all certifications through USA Volleyball, AAU and AVP along with a background in personal training working at Club Fitness and Nutrition and James River fitness providing coaching from in person to weekly check ins and virtual classes.

Finishing All Conference and All District in HS I accepted a full scholarship to University of Arkansas Ft. Smith for as a defensive specialist then earning a front row position as OH/RH. Multiple club teams I have coached have earned bids to Nationals and finished in the top 20. The accomplishment I am most proud of is seeing the majority of my girls go on to college careers .

With my experience I am able to fit any type of program for any player. If they are needing to build basic skills to digging deeper on a specific position or talent. I can work one on one in person, through written weekly workout plans, groups sessions or online sessions with video breakdowns. Most of my sessions include both conditioning work and ball handling skills. I believe that you need to know and understand the basics before you can start perfecting. We will start with the basics once they become natural to the athlete then the real fun begins. We start working on options that can be ran and set us apart from other players. From different sets, running plays at the net, types of blocking, defense, serve type or specified position training. An example of an all-around session foe HS level might include but not limited to:
-Dynamic warm ups to help with mobility (body weight workout if needed / requested)
-Running through transitioning (foot work)
-Passing at base and defense (depending on level passing type increase)
-Serving drills with conditioning
-4 point setting feeling the court
-Sideline pass to attack
-Attacking (read blockers)
I will focus each session individually on our goals along with strengths and weakness. If you asked one of my players about a session with me they would say... workouts are sometimes tough but fun, leaving them feeling accomplished.

Client Reviews

April is fantastic! We did the (5) virtual sessions since we are based in California. From the very first session, our daughter felt at ease and quickly improved her skills. April is friendly, supportive, knowledgeable and great at focusing /improving fundamental skills. We look forward to future sessions with her!

Coach April was great. My daughter felt very comfortable and gained valuable lessons within her first hour. Coach April is wonderful with communication and recommend her without hesitation.

Awesome coach! Helped my daughter make minor corrections that helped in big ways!

She was great I loved it.

We were a little concerned because our 14-year-old, 6-feet-2 girl has lost quite a bit of confidence. But within a few minutes, Coach April had her working out and just so happy! She talked about Coach April for a full 30 minutes after the 60-minute workout! Coach April is amazing!

April Stapp is a phenomenal coach. She takes time with the players to make sure they understand each step. She is very supportive and lets the student know she is there to help.
April is always pushing me to be my best and is always positive and encouraging no matter how frustrated I get with myself. She has a lot of Volleyball knowledge and gives great feedback when I make a mistake or need help.
