Volleyball has typically six skills to work on. As a coach you would like your players to have a good grasp of all the skills but that is usually not the case. So a coach handles skills according to a player's ability or likes. For instance some players prefer to become setters others attackers. But of course as a coach our duty is to advise and groom a team that will compete favorably. Depending on the skill (Serve, setting, Spiking, receiving, court defense and net defense) different routines in training are necessary to sharpen the skills. On different days skills may be handled differently and at the end of the week a combination of the skills.
