A general session plan will determine on the amount of people in each session and the positions in question. Sessions typically will run 60 min. They will begin with a 3-5 min footwork/dynamic warm up along with a 3-5 min shoulder warm up. Then 30-45 min will consist of positional work. All positions will participate in passing drills. These will run for 5-10 min at a time depending on the drill and the intensity. Agility, speed and efficiency will be concentrated on during all drills. Most of all technique is #1. Next will be positional/transitioning drills running from 3-5 min each depending on position. Hitting and blocking drills will be run with the hitters and setters. These drills with be low intensity at first running from 5-10 min each. Each training session will be focusing on 2-3 aspects of each position to adequately train and progress the athlete. Sessions are are kept serious and energetic.
