More About Coach Angela

I have been coaching all levels of recreational, special needs, and competitive gymnastics for 31 years in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida

I am a former US National Team member. I traveled, competed, and performed internationally in Bulgaria, China, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Italy, France. I was the 1986 US National Beam Champion, 6th Place All Around, 3rd Place Vault. Competed in 1st Goodwill Games in Moscow, Russia (1986): 5th Place Team, 7th Place Vault (in the world). Competed for University of North Carolina At Chapel Hill: Broke every record as a Freshman Student-Athlete, Assistant Coach.

I focus on specific drills and techniques that pertain to and enhance my clients' needs and endeavors. My client and I will confirm what elements are in need of improvement, introduced, or reconditioned. Warm up and stretching are done 1st to properly prepare and prevent injury. The session will then consist of the desired lesson or skill to be trained. The skill or lesson is taught by using specific drills, conditioning, and progression related elements (basic-to-current-ability and eventually beyond). Cool down and stretching will close the session. I provide maintenance elements and mental imagery exercises that assist in my client retaining learned information and skills.

Client Reviews

Angela is great at what she does, without a doubt she is very experienced and patient. Our family feels very lucky to have met her. Every technique and detail she has taught our child has made a great difference in the performance. We are looking forward to our future sessions. We highly recommend her!! Thanks again Angela for making a difference.

Angela Denkins was my fitness angel for 7 years and somehow, every time I work out to this day, I continue to hear her in my head! I didn't grow up playing sports or into fitness, so meeting Angie in my late twenties, having 3 children and a career, was a pivotal point in my life. Her calm, yet convincing manner helped to ease me into working harder than I ever imagined I could and seeing the results changed so many things! However, knowing that I had put in such hard work and had someone there pushing, but also helping me along the way is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life! Faith Evans
It’s a pleasure to be able to write a letter of recommendation for Angela (Angie) Denkins. While her very impressive resume speaks for itself, you realize after you get to know her and have worked with her that the resume falls far short of communicating all that she has to offer. In the 7 short months that she was with us for the purpose of founding and getting a new large business off the ground, her management and communication skills were unequaled. Her energy level was explosive throughout and only equaled by her work ethic. She was diligent and her approach to the project was well organized and analytical, while demonstrating impressive skill, dedication and responsibility. She is able to think out of the box and we did not witness any obstacle she could not resolve. She is fiercely intelligent and was not intimidated by the magnitude or complexity of any task. She works so fast and is so demanding of herself that in fact she does the work of many. Finally Angie is honest. She was entrusted with large amounts of cash and credit for supplies and building materials along with full key access to all areas of the property. Feel free to contact me if you need further information. Sincerely, Malka Livingston
Angie has been an excellent coach and mentor to our daughter Kiara Richmon during her Level 6 and 7 USAG competition seasons. Kiara started with the College Park TumbleWeeds Gymnastics Competitive Team in the Summer of 2011 where she met Angie. Under Angie's coaching, Kiara excelled as a Level 6 Gymnast in the Fall of 2011 and was even more excited to compete USAG Level 7 in the Spring of 2012. She did very well and actually much better than anyone else at the gym expected. Angie has always challenged her girls and not only Kiara. We have also observed that she is very passionate about her job as a gymnastics coach and the girls that she coaches. She has always put the girls first and foremost every time. Angie was always accommodating if we needed to schedule private lessons and accommodated whatever was requested in the best way she could. She has never at anytime complained about anything that she needed to do to help her girls to be successful gymnasts no matter what level they were. We were very sad to see Angie go but we have maintained communication with her. In fact Kiara has called Coach Angie before her competition season for her pep talk. Kiara will be competing Level 9 next season. Angie is an excellent coach and mentor and we would highly recommend her as a gymnastics coach as she is an extremely valuable asset to the gymnastics community. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further information. Respectfully, John and Patrice Richmon
