More About Coach Andy

I am a physical therapist, fitness coach, and soccer coach. My goal is to make soccer players stronger, faster, and as healthy as possible.

I attended Temple University. where I majored in Exercise Science. I graduated with honors, and completed a thesis on traumatic brain injuries (concussion) in soccer. I went on to earn my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Duke University.

I have had the pleasure to obtain experience in many environments. I have experience serving with the fitness and medical staff of North Carolina FC, NCFC Youth, Duke Club Sports, and Tobacco Road FC. I also have experience doing technical training with AC Fairhill, as well as online training with various elite youth clubs across the country. Furthermore, I served as the official fitness coach for two NCAA soccer programs during the COVID-19 quarantine.

I was born and raised in North Jersey, where I played recreational soccer for my local town club from preschool through high school. Early in my youth, I realized I was not the most “naturally talented” athlete. Nonetheless, my love for the sport allowed me to stay involved as an athlete and pushed me into the field of fitness and rehab.

One thing that I realized is that regardless of talent level, every player can become stronger, faster, and more powerful. After multiple years of education and practical experiences, I’ve found that my “natural talent” is not as a soccer player, but as a physical therapist and fitness coach- helping players progress to their physical best.

My sessions are primarily based on improving player speed, strength, and stamina. Depending on the age, ability, and overall health of the player, I fine tune the session to focus on their specific strengths and weaknesses. A typical session may look like:

-Warm up & activation
-Speed and agility training
-Soccer skill of choice (passing, shooting, dribbling, etc)
-Strength training & injury prevention
-Stamina training
-Cool down & recovery
