More About Coach Amanda
I have been training youth soccer players for multiple years in various groups and settings. During my collegiate years, I volunteered with local club teams in addition to coaching at clinics and camps. Since my college career ended, I have focused more on individual and small private group training, as that is where I developed my most valuable skills as a player myself. I have worked with male and female athletes from ages 5-18, all skill levels. I have experience coaching and playing all positions except goalkeeper.
I played competitive soccer for almost 20 years. Originally from New Jersey, I played for one of the top club teams in the state, region and nation for my age group, playing at all of the largest college showcases across the country. Noticed and recruited by many D1 coaches, I committed to play for UNC Charlotte. During my time as a 49er I was a four year starter, team captain my senior season, and earned many achievements and accolades - All A-10 Rookie team, A-10 Rookie of the Week, Top 20 players by TopDrawerSoccer.com on Post, Mid and Preseason charts, Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, leading scorer for the 2013 season and more.
I played midfield for the majority of my career, but also have experience at forward and defense. Fun fact - I am left footed!
I typically run 60-90 minute sessions, specifically catered to each and every player.
Warm Up - stretching & agility exercises
Technical Work & Ball Work - touches, touches, touches!
Game Aspects - shooting, passing, first touch, long balls, defending, position awareness, movement off the ball, etc.)
Fitness - cardio, core, strength, etc.
Cool Down - stretching
I focus on proper form, decision making, speed of play and repetition. I actively participate in the sessions demoing techniques, acting as an opponent, playing balls, etc. and always step in to help players whether they ask for it, or not!
