More About Coach Alex

I have been coaching for 6+ years at various levels in Germany and the US. I coached U6,U7, & U8 at the youth academy of Hallescher FC in Germany and am currently the head coach for the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer program of Nyack College. I have also led several youth soccer camps for the Warriors with children from ages five to 18. I hold the German DFB C-License and am in pursuit of the USSF D-License as well as the UEFA B-License.

I played at the second highest youth level in Germany before making the jump to the men’s side of 6th division team Romonta Amsdorf. After three years at the men’s level I transferred to Nyack College and was a four year starter for the Warriors. I helped win the conference championship and the first ever at-large bid to the NCAA Regional round in school history in the 2011 season.

During the introductory session I will assess the athlete’s overall level of play which then determines the approach for the following sessions. Based on the experience level we will work on some fundamental techniques for soccer players. It is important to not only train the technical aspects but also the cognitive side of the game. My sessions are designed to make the players think and execute. It is also important to encourage players to use both feet from the beginning. Overall, I like to create an environment that allows players to try and make mistakes.
