More About Coach Alex

Tumbling, Advanced tumbling, Bars, Rec Levels 1-4, Team. Former Coach at The Little Gym of Colonie, and Carthweels Gymnastics. Currently teaching Fitness and Tumbling privates at FDC Athletics in Glenville, NY.

I started out playing lacrosse in middle school and high school, really finding my niche for athletic fitness. Through the years I took up boxing at Quail Street Gym in Albany, NY, where I planned on competing, but a full-time job stood in my way. Slowly through the influence of friends, have taken up the art of Breakdancing, where I have competed in three competitions. Along the way I landed a job as a gymnastics coach, starting with pre-school aged children, working my way up to Level 4 Rec kids. I am a self taught tumbler, and an even better coach.

Focus on form and technique! Drills and exercises will be based around slow progressions, adhering to all safety guidelines. I start with a warm up, running or jumping drills. Next we move on to the drills and movements for the targeted skill we are looking to achieve, because that's where the focus of the session should go to. Afterwards, we will do a run down of the basics (cartwheels, round offs, candles). Next we move into strength & conditioning, which is my personal favorite! Following the workout we will cool down and stretch the whole body, then send you on your way!
