More About Coach Alexes

As a goalkeeper for 14 years I coached little kids at soccer camps starting at the age of 13, and at 15 I started helping coaching goalkeepers at training sessions all the way until I was 18 and left for college.

I typically work with athletes between the ages of 11-18, but am open to others who are interested in developing their soccer skills.

I am by nature a goalkeeper trainer, it is my specialty, but I am happily willing to help with other positions and skills. Because I am in the military I am more than happy to help with fitness as well.

I have a USSF "E" Coaching Licence and NSCAA Goalkeeping Levels 1, 2, and 3 Diplomas.

I played club soccer for Crossfire Premier out of Washington state, and as their starting goalkeeper we won 6 state championships, 2 regional championships, and 1 Super Y National League Title.

I also played 5 years of Washington State ODP, two years at the 1990 age group (which is two years above my own age group), one year at the 1991 age group (which is one year above my own age group), and two years at the 1992 age group (my own age group).

College-wise I played for three years at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. I shared time with the most senior goalkeeper my freshman year, became first string my sophomore year, and then unfortunately injured myself before the start of my junior year. Because of my military obligations I decided to retire playing after my junior year.

A typical session plan for a goalkeeper would begin with a simple warm-up that includes some footwork and handling drills because these two skills are a goalkeeper's most important assets in a game situation. Based off the athlete's experience, age, strengths, and weaknesses, a session would be dedicated to trying to strengthen certain deficiencies in their gameplay, while also helping to build or maintain good technique at all levels, whether a goalkeeper is a beginner or advanced.

This is our second session with Coach Alexes and she is truly motivating our son to want to learn more about goalkeeping. She has had great tips and insight after these sessions, giving him things to work on. She is good about breaking up the time into different aspects of goalkeeping, so that he isn't getting bored. Looking forward to our next lessons!

Coach Alexes is a great coach. Since I've started working with her I have greatly improved my speed and footwork with the ball. In addition, she has worked with me on my goal kicks which have gotten substantially better. Coach Alexes is very experienced in goalkeeping and I would recommend her to ANYONE who is serious about improving their skills in the goal.

Alexes has been working with my daughter for a few months now and it has been great! My daughter has a lot of fun and gets her butt kicked too. The focus on goalkeeping is a plus. It has been a great experience for my daughter and we're going to keep it up!

Alexis helped push me during my fitness and taught me very well on the basics of soccer and I'm very excited to continue training with her!

I have seen improvement in my goal keepers after just one session Coach Alexes and my team is excited to have her return to our team's practice again! Coach Alexes broke down the fundamentals of goal keeping to my players in a fun and challenging way as well as gave me a lot of insight on what makes a great goalie. It meant a lot that she hung around after her training session to see our goalies in a scrimmage to reinforce what she taught. It really shows how much she enjoys coaching and making players better.

I worked with Alexes for 4 years in the Olympic Development Program and club soccer. Not only is Alexes a technically strong goalkeeper, she is competitive and driven in everything she does. Some of that drive is evidenced in her commitment to the US Navy and completion of her degree with the US Naval Academy. Besides her strength as a goalkeeper, I always found Alexes to be a good role model and leader for others. As she takes the next step in developing young goalkeepers, I know she will tackle it with the same enthusiasm and pride that she demonstrated as a player in her youth.
I played soccer with Alexes growing up and throughout high school. While we played together Alexes always demonstrated leadership and a great knowledge of the game. She was efficient and tactical when in goal and helped position our team on defense. And if our defense failed, we always knew we could count on her to make the save. She is a very hardworking and talented goal keeper and knows how to work with and coach other soccer players.
Alexes has the energy, knowledge, and teaching ability to effectively communicate all GK skills to any level/age player. Her love for the game is evident through her coaching style and your child will walk away as a better GK!
