More About Coach Adam
I am currently a Strength & Conditioning coach with the Texas Rangers professional baseball team. Prior to the Texas Rangers I served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance coach at San Jose State University, an Intern Athletic Performance coach at UCLA, and an Assistant Performance coach at Velocity Sports Performance. I have a masters degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology, and I'm a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Right now I mainly train professional baseball players but have worked with various college and high school sports.
I played college lacrosse for four years at Cal State Fullerton University. I was the starting defensive midfielder for all 4 years and won 3 conference championships.
A client can expect a thorough and extensive workout centered around his or her needs as an individual and athlete. The session will focus on the pillars of mobility, activation, speed, power, and strength. Workouts will typically begin with some light thermogenic movements such as jogs and skips to increase core temperature and heart rate. Then the client will perform numerous mobility and activation exercises to prep the muscles for higher intense activity. Next the athlete will execute some technical speed exercises to work on movement mechanics and form. Lastly, the athlete will perform numerous sport specific speed and power drills. All workouts will finish with a cool down to enhance the regeneration process as well as lengthen the muscle tissue.
