Abdin Hosam

Speaking purely as a coach, I have 2 years of private training experience. Although this may seem short, please hear me out and read my story. In my first year, I served as one of the coaches for the Olympics national team in Egypt, with 10 private clients on the side. After relocating to New York 5 months ago, I have worked at Mendez Boxing (26th St 5th Ave) as a house/private trainer. Since my leave from Mendez Boxing Gym, I have transferred my clients to Work Train Fight gym (Broadway/Jones Street). As of right now, I have 8 private clients. My private clients' skill levels ranges from high level boxers (competitive) to fledgling beginners. I do not have any industry certifications, but my resume as an olympic champion and national team trainer speaks for itself. Although I respect all coaches on the CoachUp platform, but please know I am different.

I have 25 years of experience as a professional and amateur boxer. I have fought in all weight classes from bantam weight to middleweight. I have 450 amateur fights under my belt, with 421 wins and 29 losses. My professional record is 6-2. I am a 6-time gold medalist and 1-time bronze medalist in the African and Arab National Championships, where I was hand-picked by the International Boxing Federation to compete professionally (8 boxers only in the world). I have a bronze medal in the World Championship (2015), a gold belt from World Championship in Romania (2006), and I was also the reigning Egyptian gold-medalist for 19 years from 1997 to 2016. From 2000 to 2016, I was the national team captain for my country. I also have a gold medal in Jeux de la Francophonie in 2009. I also have a silver and bronze medal in the Mediterranean Games in Italy 2009 and Turkey 2013. I have a lot more accolades and honors on the international scene but too many to mention in this short space. There's no simple answer to this question. Each client has different wants and needs. However, I put a great emphasis on boxing fundamentals and techniques, working a lot with the mitts (the most tiring for me but most rewarding for the client). I tailor a different training regime for every single client depending on their current skill levels. I've gone through many national and international training camps, so I can train people for fitness and boxing. Eventually, I groom them to have all the necessary skills required to become a first-class boxer.
