More About Coach Abby
I have worked with a wide range of ages from 6 to 18 year olds. Throughout college, I worked many soccer camps such as The University of Texas' Elite Camp, UT's Summer Camp, the Team First Austin Camp, and Kristine Lilly's Spring Clinics. I have, also, coached for St. Austin's Co-Ed 7/8th grade team.
I have trained different levels that ranged from beginners to expert players. Most players that I have worked with have aspirations of bettering their skills and potentially playing for the top team in their area.
I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin as the starting goalkeeper for all 4 years. I was named to the Big 12 Conference soccer team all 4 years as well as 2012 Newcomer of the week and 2012 Defensive player of the week. As a junior, I was named as a Scholar-All American, Regional Team, and the Big 12 Conference Team. Also, I finished the year as a finalist for UT Athlete of the Year. As a senior, I was one of the team leaders and captains. I was named to Preseason All Big12 Team.
I am a part of the Under 23 United States Women's National Soccer Team Youth program, but was also a member of multiple other youth programs growing up (Under 15, Under 17, and Under 20). I was a part of the Under 20 US Women's Soccer Team that won the 2012 FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Japan.
I have competed in multiple countries across the globe with many different teams, including Dallas Texans Soccer Team (club soccer), Region III Team, and US Women's Youth Teams.
Most recently I was drafted into the National Women's Soccer League by the Boston Breakers.
Based on previous sessions, I work on the basic skills such as footwork with and without the ball, set positioning, hand positioning, passing and distribution, high balls, ball line positioning, and diving. These are all integral parts in being a successful goalkeeper.
For the first session, I primarily get a feel for skill level the athlete I am training. The athlete and I will go through footwork drills, handling, passing and distribution. Once we have completed the first session, I like to sit down and discuss the athlete's goals and the steps to reach those goals. In addition to their goals, I keep an open communication with the athlete and their parents over what we are working on. If there is any feedback or specific requests from their coach on what to work on, I try to implement that into the session as well.

Coach Abby is awesome! She has such a nice way about her! Every time I train with her I feel myself improving so much!
I like how she asks me what I want to work on during the sessions. She is so knowledgeable and is able to explain things
in an easy to understand way. I feel so ready for my season and so lucky to be able to work with Coach Abby!
Shawn Strickler (Testimonial)
Coach Abby is awesome. My son cried when he learned she was moving to Boston, so our loss is your gain. As a parent, it was refreshing to see a coach not only impart her knowledge onto my son, but to be observant enough to notice when he was becoming frustrated and to change things up to build his confidence back up before pushing him again. So many private coaches push kids so hard that they get discouraged, but Abby gets the best out of them without them even being aware. We miss her, so please take good care of her!
