More About Coach Ashley

In one way or another, I have been part of a team almost my entire life. I have a background in Cross country, Track, Polevaulting, Cycling, Triathlons, Volleyball and Basketball. During high school I found a love for coaching when I was an assistant track coach for our middle school athletes and helped run camps for them. As a captain of our cross country and track teams I took a great interest in the motivation of others. This carried on to college where I ran for the division I Cross Country and Track teams at the University of South Florida where I received my bachelors degree in Exercise Science. During college I began my work with corporate wellness, coaching adults to find their inner athlete and here found my true calling for coaching. Today I also volunteer with a local elementary running and tutoring program which I find very rewarding.
I am motivated by results. Whether it is an increased sports performance, increased skill/ ability, or weight loss/ muscle gain. I take pride in assisting individuals to operate/ feel their best. I have experience coaching Kindergarteners through elderly adults. I find that each demographic has a unique challenge to offer in my coaching style and experience. Even though I do not have a degree in physical therapy, I do have a great admiration and interest in the body's rehabilitation process. I personally am returning to athletics after knee reconstruction and would be interested to coach anyone with a similar challenge.
In combination with my Exercise Science degree, I also have the AFAA Personal Training Certification and am currently working on a masters degree in Health Services.

I have run cross country and track at the collegiate level and made top honors for academic first team all conference as well. I currently have running personal bests of 3:34 Marathon, a 1:36 half marathon and a 19:20 5k. In 2013 I completed my first half Ironman.

A normal session would consist of warm up drills. Form running technique activities to warm up the body and recruit muscle memory to be used in practice. Depending on the athlete's goals we would then move into flexibility drills and walk through their workout for the day whether it be aerobic (distance/ cardio) or anerobic (speed/ agility/ or weights). My session include jumps, kettle bells, weights, body weight activities and well as timed intervals. After the meat of the workout is complete, we would revert to our final element (again dependent on the athlete) of a burnout (such as with weights and not at every session, this would be dependent on periodization and where the athlete is at condition wise) or a focus activity on form or technique needed for their sport. To complete the session, feedback and discussion would occur to find where the athlete is both mentally and physically and how/ if training should be modified moving forward.

Client Reviews

This is week 3 for coach Ashley, ideal for my daughter aged 13, who just started having interest in running and needed professional guidance to start it right. Coach Ashley buttoned up, methodical and organized. Week 1 was diagnostics to understand my daughter's goals, where she is in the journey and where she needs help the most. Week 2 was prescriptive of what shoes and clothes to wear for outdoor runs, daily training routine and running techniques for speed and stamina, Week 3 was preparing my daughter for her first 5K run, My daughter met up with previous friends who have been into running since childhood. And guess what... she kept up with them like she has been running for years. Coach Ashley - you know your craft and we thank you for your guidance. What a success this coaching program has been despite the fact that is was all done virtually!

I had my 1st Ever coaching session today. Ashley T. Is Awesome! I chose her because she understood knee issues and how to work thru them. She not only gave me quite a workout today but for the future. She took the fear out of getting started on my weight loss journey and replaced it with excitement for what's next. She cares about having an overall healthier life not just weight wise. Yes I would recommend her if you need a coach that really hears you an has the knowledge, skills, education and experience to back it up. Great session! Thank you Coachup!

Coach Ashley is amazing! She has been working with our now 8 year old daughter for the past year. Her gait was markedly abnormal, and thanks to Coach Ashley, we have seen a tremendous improvement! Our daughter is stronger, faster, and more confident! Most importantly, however, Coach Ashley has been an amazing role model. She is someone Maddie definitely looks up to! We love Coach Ashley!

I highly recommend Coach Ashley! When I was looking for a coach she asked the right questions and picked up on the goals that I have. Her background and knowledge in the whole package of what makes a runner better is exactly what I was looking for!

Ashley was outstanding. She took the time to learn about me and my goals and worked with me at my pace. Would highly recommend her to anybody looking to improve their physical or mental strength.

I worked with Ashley for about 2 months and she was absolutely wonderful. I was training fora 5k and was a beginner runner. Ashley got me right to where I need to be and was so encouraging. Her energetic and positive energy was infectious every time we would run together. She is an advanced runner herself but was always patient with me and pushed me just enough to meet my goals. Thank you, Ashley!!

Preethi has really improved a lot and has come a long way thanks to the excellent work done by coach Ashley!
