I hope you have a great day while enjoying your family.<\/p>\n<p>If you are like me you&#8217;ll probably find some time to not only enjoy watching sporting events on TV, but probably participating in some. That may be a turkey trot, a back yard football game, shooting some hoops, or even a full-blown (serious) flag football game with friends.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>The thankful sports parent<\/h2>\n<p>As a sports parent I have a lot to be thankful for. One of which is sharing my experiences and lessons learned from coaching youth sports, watching my kids play sports, and just being around the games I love.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of 15 things I&#8217;m thankful for. &nbsp;Enjoy the list, have a great Thanksgiving, and get active today!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful for <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/11\/14\/what-happens-when-your-kid-loves-a-sport\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/11\/14\/what-happens-when-your-kid-loves-a-sport\/\">my kids love sports<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful for <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/08\/22\/the-heart-of-a-one-legged-youth-athlete\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/08\/22\/the-heart-of-a-one-legged-youth-athlete\/\">the heart of youth athletes<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful that <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/08\/08\/manning-brothers-rap-reminds-us-to-have-fun-playing-sports\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/08\/08\/manning-brothers-rap-reminds-us-to-have-fun-playing-sports\/\">sports are fun<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful for <a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/04\/18\/why-you-must-introduce-your-young-athletes-to-jackie-robinson\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/04\/18\/why-you-must-introduce-your-young-athletes-to-jackie-robinson\/\">learning from sports legends<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful for the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/02\/21\/the-responsibility-and-privilege-of-coaching-youth-sports\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/02\/21\/the-responsibility-and-privilege-of-coaching-youth-sports\/\">responsbility and privilege of coaching youth sports<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful that <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/02\/07\/super-bowl-47-a-big-game-for-many-a-test-of-character-for-the-harbaugh-family\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/02\/07\/super-bowl-47-a-big-game-for-many-a-test-of-character-for-the-harbaugh-family\/\">sports are a family affair<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful that <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/01\/24\/can-you-coach-the-love-of-the-game\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2013\/01\/24\/can-you-coach-the-love-of-the-game\/\">the love of the game comes naturally<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful for <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2012\/12\/27\/5-sports-themed-family-activities-for-your-holiday-break\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2012\/12\/27\/5-sports-themed-family-activities-for-your-holiday-break\/\">sports during the holidays<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m thankful that sometimes <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2012\/12\/13\/how-to-handle-being-the-parent-fan-not-the-parent-coach\/\" data-mce-href=\"http:\/\/blog.coachup.com\/2012\/12\/13\/how-to-handle-being-the-parent-fan-not-the-parent-coach\/\">I can just be a fan<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\" data-mce-style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>What aspects of sports are you thankful for?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Jackie Bledsoe, Jr.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;is a sports parent of three, and writes about sports parenting.
