More About Coach Zackary

I am currently the varsity defensive line coach at West Boca high school in Boca Raton, Florida. I am a young coach and able to relate to players well. I have been training St. Thomas University commit Tyrese Blue (Wide Receiver) and top three receiver in Palm Beach County Rashawn Faustine. Also an up and coming freshman linebacker at Atlantic high school Junior Cesear. I have experience coaching and playing multiple positions even for being so young.

I am currently enrolled at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and I am a communications major. In high school I played defensive end and in my senior season I acquired many accolades. I was second team all state for Florida, first team all palm beach county, first team all district, and team defensive MVP for my high school Atlantic high. I finished my senior season with 19 sacks. As a junior I played at Spanish River as a starting linebacker where I finished that season with over 100 tackles.

I always start my workouts with a dynamic stretch so my athletes won't pull anything. In those stretches I have my athletes focus on loosening various muscles like their hamstrings and quads. I also put a big emphasis on loosening hip flexors because that is were all of an athletes flexibility will come from. If we are working on explosion for that specific day I will also incorporate various explosive jumps into our stretching. Stretching will last about 10-15 minutes. After stretches I always have my athletes do various ladder drills. Those drills are position specific and will slightly vary for each position. Those are our EDDs (Everyday drills) and will happen at the start of every workout. After the ladder I will give a five minute water break and then we will split into position specific drills. Every drill is designed to fit that athletes position and as I get to learn more about that athletes strength and weaknesses I will design certain drills to help make those weaknesses strengths. We will do about 3-5 drills a session depending on timing and water breaks are worked in for in between drills. A session will usually last about an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes.

My son really enjoyed his first session with coach Zackary and is looking forward to more training. I can see how the drills he uses will help my son become a better, more confident player.
