More About Coach Ty

Coach Ty started her basketball career in 6th grade in Galloway, New Jersey (NJ), traveling leagues. Entering High School (NJ), she made the varsity team and become a three-year starting point guard, making 1st team all three years. During the 2005-2006 season, she led her high school to a state championship title. Throughout high school, she received many prestigious awards for the following sports: basketball, soccer and track and field. Heading into her senior year, Coach Ty received numerous scholarship offers from Division 1 and Division 2 colleges, for basketball and soccer. Basketball was her first love, and she decided to accept a scholarship offer to the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) to continue her basketball career. During her junior year of college, she played a huge role in helping UDC advance to the NCAA tournament. That same year, she received the “Coaches Award”. Coach Ty graduated from UDC in the spring of 2013, with a degree in Communications. She holds the title for being the first student-athlete to participate in the NCAA tournament for two sports in one year (basketball and tennis) at UDC.

Coach Ty currently works at the National Association of Broadcasters, attends Georgetown University’s Graduate program (Sports Industry Management) and continues to pursue her love for basketball through coaching and training.

Co-Founder, Hustle Hard Training

I was a member of the University of the District of Columbia NCAA Div II Women’s Basketball Team, (team captain). During my time on the team, I received the "Coaches Award", participated and played in charity basketball events to raise money for breast cancer awareness and led the team to the NCAA Tournament my junior year. I am the 1st student-athlete at UDC to compete in the NCAA tournament for two sports in one year (Basketball & Tennis).

I've been blessed to play with and against some of the top players in women's basketball (Tina Charles - NY Liberty, Elena Delle Donne - Chicago Sky, Christina Foggie - drafted by the Minnesota Lynx in 2014, and La'Keisha Sutton - plays professionally overseas).
