Todd has brought my overtrained body and legs back to a better baseline to do what I love to do! Run!
He slowed me down and made me faster. In fact, I won overall female in a 5K with fresher legs than I had had
in months! My bike portion has become stronger and he taught me how to swim.
Todd loves what he does and it shows by the vast amount of team opportunities he hosts to become stronger, faster and to
become more experienced and comfortable. He seems tireless!
Something else I appreciate about Todd is his understanding of the needs of the masters athlete, especially the need for recovery
time. Todd is diligent to work with a busy working mom's schedule with sometimes last minute changes.
He is good with people, patient, compassionate, loyal and challenges you to your edge.
He is knowledgeable about gadgets, products and nutrition...yep, I am in good hands!
I have been fortunate enough to know Todd Codish as a coach and as a friend for the past 9 years. I started my triathlon career with Team In Training and Todd was our fearless leader. I bought a pair of goggles, some running shoes and had my moms beach cruiser. I finished Cap Tex and since then, with the help of Todd I have completed 3 full distance ironman events!
Todd is an exceptional coach. His use of metabolic testing and lactate testing in combination of his advance knowledge of triathlon results in a fun event. His love for the sport and his clients is so evident in his coaching. He is passionate and really cares about his athletes within sport and as an individual. He is in constant communication following and analyzing as much data as you give him. His work out plans are detailed, tailored to your needs, and easy to follow. There have been plenty of times where I have missed work out, skipped a work out, was too tired to work out, but Todd works with me to refocus and stay the course. He is flexible but holds you accountable.
Todd has always helped me meet my goals at a level and pace that I am comfortable with. He pushes me to better and stronger as an athlete and an individual. I'm so blessed to have him as my coach and my friend!
Coach Todd has been an integral part of my triathlon training. His training plans are well thought out and not “cookie cutter”. He listens to your feedback and evaluates how your body reacts to the workouts and changes them as needed. His knowledge of the sport and science combined with his positive attitude makes it easy to trust his gameplan for your training. Todd also gives back what you put in so don’t expect big things if you are not willing to give him 100%. It doesn't matter if you are new to the sport or a veteran, I have no doubt Todd can help you accomplish your goals!
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Todd for several years and recently had the privilege to have him coach me. My journey in endurance sports began with the White Rock Marathon in 2003 and transitioned to long course triathlons in 2007. Along the way I did not use a coach believing my approach produced acceptable results. However, Todd's experience and insights convinced me he could take my fitness to a higher level. Before any blood lactate or VO2 tests, Todd correctly surmised I had a solid base but lacked a sufficient high end. Further he believed I could achieve my goals with much less time invested than the months of 24 hour weeks I had put in leading up the HITS 140.6 in Corpus Christi in February. After Todd performed bike and run lactate and VO2 tests the alchemy began. His knowledge and experience allowed him to correctly analyze the results despite several anomalies. From there he custom tailored a training plan that pushed my lactate threshold further out but more importantly did so with fewer hours utilizing a training plan that put quality ahead of quantity. The culmination of Todd's training plan produced my primary goal: winning the 2012 Redman iron distance triathlon. A week later I almost broke 2 hours in a weather-challenged Olympic distance triathlon. The next weekend I won a 5K on Saturday and placed in the top 10 in the Tyler Rose half marathon the next day. Two weeks later, I completed the Longhorn half iron distance triathlon in under 4:30, where I took second in my age group and qualified for the WTC 70.3 championship. Todd's plan truly lifted me to a new level of fitness (verified by lactate and VO2 tests) and provided time to enjoy life more. As an athlete that eschewed coaches for so long, I enjoyed working with Todd, the results he produced, and look forward to working with him on my next goals.
