More About Coach Tiffani

I have 7+ years of coaching experience at all levels including collegiate. While in Texas, I worked for 4 years as the Head Hurdle coach for the city of Waco's Summer Track Team "Team Waco", a team made up of elementary and high school athletes. Upon graduating from Baylor University, I spent the next 2 years as a volunteer sprints and hurdles coach for the university helping tailor workouts, as well as traveling with the team to major meets such as, the Big 12 Conference meet and NCAA Regional Championships. Upon moving to California, I returned to the high school level as the Assistant Track and Field Coach at Geffen High School.
In addition to coaching I have also worked as a personal trainer for 3 years. The combination of speed and strength in my workouts has been vital in the success of my athletes, several of which have earned scholarships to college/university in their respective events.

Currently, a USA professional hurdler, I have competed internationally for the last 3 years. As a professional I have earned honors in both indoor and outdoor. In 2013 I earned bronze at the 2013 USA Indoor Championships. Most recently I qualified and competed in the 100mH for Team USA in the 2019 "The Match" Europe vs. USA. Among these accomplishments I have competed in multiple Diamond League meets as finalist and multiple USA Championships including both the 2012 London Olympic Trials and 2016 Rio Olympic Trials where I finished as a semi-finalist.
Prior to beginning my professional career I was a student-athlete at Baylor University. As a student-athlete, I competed in both the sprints and hurdles, including the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, 100mH and 400mH. I earned 7 Big 12 Championship titles and 5 All-American honors (3 of which were runner-up) in the 100mH and 60mH combined.

A typical session will begin with a warm-up in which small details that are typically overlook will be emphasized such as, proper angles for arms and legs and dorsiflexion in the feet. The details emphasized in the warm-up will transition into the work-out as we work through stride frequency and rhythm which is important for both sprinters and hurdlers. I like to use sticks for stride spacing, cones and other tools to help with creating muscle memory for athletes. For hurdlers, we will combine the components of sprinting with proper hurdle technique. Hurdle drills will be common, as well as rhythm and spacing drills.
