More About Coach Thomas

I’m a strength and speed coach with experience training youth, high school, and general population athletes in performance development, injury resilience, and long-term athletic development. I’ve worked with athletes in both private and team training environments, focusing on speed, agility, strength, conditioning, mobility, and movement quality. I primarily work with middle school and high school athletes, helping them build strong athletic foundations that transfer directly to sport performance. I hold certifications in personal training and sports performance, and my coaching style combines evidence-based training with practical, athlete-centered coaching.

I played competitive soccer for most of my life and competed at the semi-professional level in Germany. My playing experience exposed me to high-level training environments, advanced conditioning systems, and the physical preparation required to compete at a high standard. As a defender, I developed a strong appreciation for movement efficiency, speed, resilience, and recovery. These principles now shape my coaching philosophy. My background as both an athlete and coach allows me to connect with players while understanding the demands of long-term athletic development.

A typical session begins with movement preparation focused on mobility, activation, and coordination to prepare the athlete for high-quality movement. From there, we move into plyometrics, sprint mechanics, speed and agility work, or change-of-direction drills depending on the athlete’s goals and sport demands. Strength development usually follows, with an emphasis on proper technique, force production, stability, and athletic movement patterns. Sessions finish with conditioning, accessory and hypertrophy work, or recovery-focused exercises when appropriate. I focus heavily on movement quality, intent, and building athletic confidence while keeping sessions challenging and engaging.
