More About Coach Taylor

I have roughly 7 years of coaching and training experience with players ranging from 4 years old to 40 years old. In high school, I helped run and coach multiple summer camps with elementary and middle school students. I have also worked as a director with Skyhawks Sports for 3 years. I have trained players with programs such as WVBA (Willamette Valley Basketball Association), Hoop Vision, and Portland Energy. I spent one summer as the 8th Girls Basketball head coach. More recently, I was an assistant women's basketball coach for Linfield College and I am currently the head JV2/assistant varsity coach for the Central Catholic Girls Basketball Team.

I have been involved in competitive athletics for over 12 years. When I was 13 years old I traveled with an USA team to Japan to compete in a tournament. I also played basketball and swam for Oregon City High School. In my sophomore year of college I was named as an honorable mention for the WBCA All-American Team (JC division) and was an All Conference First Team pick for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. I earned a Division I scholarship to the University of Maryland - Baltimore County where I finished my athletic career and was named to the American East Honor Roll. I now like to play pick up basketball and tennis once a week. I am also part of a flag football league!

I experienced many athletic related injuries during my career, so proper warm ups are very important to me. A client can expect to begin a workout with a dynamic warm up and end a workout with a cool down. I like to be creative with my workouts; often mixing speed and conditioning drills with fundamentals. Basketball is my passion and attribute the type of person I am today to the life skills I learned throughout my career. So we will not only physically train but mentally train as well. We will work on things such as confidence, positive self talk, shooting slumps, etc. Ball is life!

Client Reviews

My daughter loved her experience with coach Taylor we can't wait to continue with more sessions.

My 14-year-old has had a great experience so far. Taylor knows how to talk to kids, and knows how to get them to work to achieve their goals.

Coach Taylor did an excellent job. I highly recommend her as a private coach for anyone interested in learning and perfecting their basketball skills.

My daughter has had two sessions so far and she was nervous at first but she just told me she really likes what she's learning and Taylor is super nice. My daughter has even been pretty good about doing her homework which means she cares about what she is learning. I love that she's putting more energy into a sport she really enjoys.
