More About Coach Susan

As a teacher, psychologist, and coach my experience spans every discipline needed to produce successful athletes. I have four years pf experience coaching athletes for lake-based open water triathlons. I own a small word-of-mouth business, Cricket Yoga & Aquatics, and it is the love of my life. I believe I can teach the most reluctant learner to swim. My preferred age for coaching is 12 through 90! I am a 200 hour trained yoga teacher. Our coaching sessions will involve instruction on breath and flexibility as these are fundamental to swimming fast.

I am a proud Boston College Four Year Athletic Scholarship Swimmer. A significant moment in my career as an athlete was my induction into the Rhode Island Aquatic Hall of Fame which is located at the University of Rhode Island.

A typical session will include a 'drop-in' where we prepare our minds for goal setting and the joy and excitement of physical challenge. From there, we will transition into dry-land lengthening and breathing practice to support proper stroke technique. The third element of our session will be the lake based swim. My coaching approach will include both in-water modeling of proper breathing and stroke technique and simultaneous support as you works towards and conquer the 1/4 mile stretch. You will enjoy the opportunity to build your distance capacity to achieve your goals. Our exit ticket will include stretching and a progress check-in. You will always be encouraged to provide feedback.
