More About Coach Steven

Strength & Conditioning coach at Northeastern University, involved in CrossFit, sports performance, rehabilitation, and Olympic Weightlifting since 2008. Responsible for coaching: Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Endurance, Rowing, Mobility, and a gymnastics skill. I also created a private athletic skill and development program. This involved taking on high-skill clients interested in refining patterns, energy system development, skills, and traits relevant to their sports.

Previously responsible for programming periodized strength and conditioning cycles for a large athletic performance center in Rhode Island. At Dickinson College, I focused my studies on adaptations to stress, obesity, weight management, and nutrition. After my football career ended, I founded a nonprofit fitness club at Dickinson. In my work outside of school, I have served as a fitness coach for every age group, from the very young to the very elderly, in both strength and conditioning and rehabilitation. I am eager to continue my work in helping clients achieve their goals and learning about the limits of human performance, in both a group and personalized setting. I’m currently interested in the Postural Restoration Institute and the body’s natural asymmetry. I’m also researching neurological readiness and its application to maximum effort lifts.
