I have experience with training both goalkeepers and field players. I like to start a session with activation including a dynamic warmup and footwork to improve athleticism, speed and power. The bulk of the session will depend on the experience and needs of the athlete. After the dynamic warmup, I like to move into the technical focus of the session and then end the session with a fun, competitive exercise to apply the technique of the day. For example, a goalkeeper session might include working on set position, hand shape, positioning in the goal, and diving. A field player session might include working on dribbling, first touch, passing and shooting. Once again, the session will be entirely designed for the needs of the athlete.
