More About Coach Saya

I am a certified and registered yoga teacher at 200 hours (RYT-200) and have been teaching classes and private yoga for the past 5 years or so. I've worked with men and women of various ages and worked with people with back and knee pains, sleep problems, and lots of stress. I teach and incorporate different styles of yoga including slow alignment-based vinyasa, restorative, and also more traditional hatha yoga. My private sessions are customized to meet the needs of each client and we work together to create optimal health and well-being.

I love the practice of yoga for my mind, body, and spirit, and yoga keeps me in shape to do what I love like hiking, kayaking, dancing, and more!

My session runs for 75 minutes and includes a series of poses that help to strengthen, stretch, and detox the body as well as create better balance. I also include restorative poses to help the client relax and renew and calm the body and mind. The poses and movements are not done in a mechanical way but in a way that is deeply felt with awareness and their whole being. I also use energy techniques to help balance the energy of the client.

Coach Saya was incredibly helpful, friendly, and patient in guiding me through my first yoga session. I was introduced to yoga by a good friend over a year ago. In the beginning, as most people I was a bit intimated by the challenging poses since I was not actively involved in any kind of sports or exercise regimen. But as time passed, I felt more comfortable with the poses and my body. I began to enjoy the breathing exercises since at times, I would find myself unable to unwind or relax. I travel somewhat of a distance to get to class but it is all well worth it. Doing yoga with Saya has benefited my overall health, mentally and physically. Yoga with Saya has helped my heel spur condition and I have lost a few pounds. I have also learned to breathe and meditate on my own. In the past, I attended a few yoga classes but what really made a difference is finding the right instructor. I believe that this is the most important factor doing any kind of learning. You need someone who believes in you, who encourages you without judgment and who makes you feel comfortable. Saya exudes all of these qualities and she does it with grace and a gentleness of the heart. Saya’s warm inviting smile, invigorating energy and encouragement is the ultimate key that sets her apart from others.
