More About Coach Ryan
I coached as a volunteer for many camps during my time as a player, working primarily with kids between 6-14. In addition to the camps, I provided personal coaching for kids in my local area. Since ending my playing career, I took a 2-year hiatus from the game before rediscovering my passion through one-on-one coaching. I specialize working with younger players (8-14) and really focusing on the fundamentals and little details. My curriculum is curated from the best baseball minds and tailored to the individual student.
Catcher for Tri-City Arsenal's top travel team (same organization as Mike Trout). Perfect Game 2013 HS Preseason Honorable Mention All-American. Hit .495 senior year of HS, while earning a 1.01 ERA at the front of the rotation and pitching a complete game shutout in the playoffs. Received all-division, county and state distinctions. Division I student-athlete at Georgetown University. Played for the Albany Dutchmen in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Work hard, have fun, reflect. Every session starts with a jog and stretch. Repeat students learn to show up a little early to jog and stretch themselves to spend more time on baseball. Then we jump right into technique drills. I like to work in tennis balls, pancake gloves, mini whiffle balls, tee and other tools to help develop the reflexes, build focus and emphasize the fundamentals. For instance, catchers will learn how to softly block and control bounces with the lighter, bouncier tennis balls. Hitters will learn how to increase barrel time in the zone through open stance high tee, and increase power by finding their strongest base and increasing hip-hand separation through the Griffey drill. After 15-20 minutes of drill work, it's time to have fun and let it loose. We build confidence through repetition of the task and use mental and physical visualization to walk through game situations until each one becomes second nature. Each session ends with a competition round to benchmark and create a high-intensity moment in a low-risk environment. If the student wants and the time allows, I will spend time after listening and talking to the student about any number of topics that are top of mind.

Coach Ryan was awesome! My son had fun and learned the basics of baseball. Ryan was patient, engaging, and friendly. I would likely recommend him.
Alberto Anguiano / Client Father (Testimonial)
Thanks Ryan that was awesome. My son took so much out of the session... he loved it. You do have a talent.
Ted Corvino / HS Head Coach (Testimonial)
Ryan has learned to recognize that it’s the little things that count in the game of baseball, and as a leader he needed to model all of the right behaviors for his teammates.
