More About Coach Ryan
I've coached competitive youth soccer for one year with the age group of 7-11 years old both boys and girls. I have some experience coaching boys and girls with the age group of 12-15 while coaching a competitive soccer club. I've worked at the San Carlos United Soccer Club.
My specific athletic accomplishments are playing four years of collegiate soccer, being a captain of my college team, winning our conference championship to play in the National Tournament, and getting invited to participate in a soccer combine with professional scouts in attendance. I played collegiate soccer and played semi professional soccer. I played for Menlo College for four years and played one year with the Burlingame Dragons, who were the affiliate to the San Jose Earthquakes. Awards and honors that I've earned are breaking my college's school record with most assists, winning the Glen E. Dorst Sportsmanship Award for my college, and earning MVP in one of my semi professional games.
I like to mix up sessions plans so sessions don't become repetitive. A normal one hour session will consist of a 5 to 10 minute active stretching and active movement warmup, then a 15 minute agility, footwork, coordination, and speed work stations without the ball, then a 20 minute exercise with the ball that focuses on dribbling, passing, receiving, guiding, and in game situational plays, then a 10 to 15 minute shooting exercise with different components such as shooting from distance, shooting from close range, shooting from different angles, shooting while on the dribble, shooting while being stationary, different techniques of shooting, and shooting while the ball is in the air, then the final part of the session will consist of a 5 minute cool down which involves slow active stretching and slow movements.
