More About Coach Rubio

I have worked multiple soccer camps for the soccer club I played for when I was younger. The club is called Westside Metros in Beaverton, Oregon, which is now known as Westside Timbers (also affiliated with the Portland Timbers).

When I was 13 years old I moved to the US Youth National Team Residency in Florida. I have played for all the USYouth National Teams from U14 - U23. I was named Young Male Athlete of the Year for US Soccer in 2012 and made my US Full MNT debut at 18 years old under Jurgen Klinsmann. At the age of 15 I moved to Europe and signed my first contract to play for FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie (Dutch League- first division). From there I also played in Norway and Denmark before returning to North America to play in the Liga MX (Mexico first division) for Tijuana Xolos and the Ascenso MX (Mexico 2nd division) for Sinaloa Dorados where I was coached by Diego Maradona. I am currently still under contract with Xolos on loan to Dorados.

With my experience at the highest level, I think it’s important to develop the fundamental skills and speed that the game demands everyday. That being said my training sessions will start with agility/speed including footwork with the ball. We will always do some sort of ball skill work as that is so important to the game. Then I would move in to passing and accuracy/finishing work to small goals or positional work. At the end of the day, I want to get the best out of my client, but also make it enjoyable as I feel that is always the most important.
