More About Coach Roger

I have taught full time for 15 years at West Orange Tennis Club,Brooklake Country Club and Mountain Ridge Country Club.I also have worked the past Three summers at Orange Lawn Tennis Club.I have been a USPTA member for 15 years. I teach every type of lesson but feel I am particularly good with beginners and children

My father was a tennis coach and I played in numerous tournaments as a junior. I also played many USTA tournaments as an adult.I coached the Rutger's Newark Men's and Women's teams to winning seasons. I have been into fitness training and nutrition for over forty years and try to get my advance players to buy into those behaviors as they are essential to succeed in todays more physically demanding game.

I generally try to assess a students level first.I do this by feeding a few balls to the student so i can see how they hit the ball. I look at their tennis mechanics, eye hand coordination, and full body coordination. This allows me to gear a lesson plan that will fit the abilities of the student.I customize each lesson rather than trying to force students into one type of lesson.Flexability and Empathy are two of my strengths.

Timely, patient and friendly.Strong technical-foundation,versatile teaching methods.Very knowledgeable about evolution of tennis game, match strategy, and quickly adapts to skill level of student. As a recreational player with a late start to tennis and no previous formal training, I was looking to improve my game to a 3.0-3.5 level to be able to play competitively in local tournaments.Roger's ability to identify and deconstruct technique helped me rebuild my strokes from the ground up. He adapt and adjust his methods when something didn't work. Would highly recommend him to anyone from beginner to intermediate to advanced
Roger is a great coach. He teaches best practices and is patient and encouraging
Only the best lesson of my life!
