More About Coach Robert

I have been coaching soccer for over 9 years while playing at the collegiate and professional level. I have been the head coach of youth teams and worked numerous summer camps. However, the majority of my experience has been in private goalkeeper specific sessions. I generally like to work with goalkeepers who are at least 8 years old but am happy to help younger children begin to learn the foundations of the position. I can also help individuals reach their dreams of playing at the highest level possible. I can breakdown techniques and teach fundamentals to players of all abilities.

I was the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the year for boys soccer in 2011 before beginning my collegiate career at the University of South Carolina. Following graduation in 2014 from the Honors College with a degree in biology, I started my professional career with the Charleston Battery of USL. In 2017, I went abroad and played with Sodertalje FK in Sweden. I returned to the Battery in 2018. I retired from the game in 2019 in order to begin dental school at Columbia University.

I typically run 1 hour sessions, but am happy to work longer. The first 10-15 minutes will be focused on a quick muscle activation segment followed by footwork aimed at improving speed and agility. We will do a variety of cone and hand eye coordination drills to sharpen the goalkeepers skills. The rest of the session will focus on the topic for the day. Examples include: Handling, Shotstopping, Diving, Crossing, 1v1's, Distribution, etc. Each session will conclude with core work and a cool down.

I am happy to tailor the session to any topic that you wish!

Brilliant. Worked on what we needed and kept it simple enough to match exactly with my level. Improved tons in just 1 hour session. Would highly recommend.

Coach Robert is a very patient, talented coach. I am working with him specifically on goalkeeping from the ground floor up. I do have experience playing keeper but never was coached, I need to unlearn some things and improve on others. He's able to work out small details that he offers corrections or a different opinion on and lets me know where/what I should work on and the theory behind it.

His ability to start from the ground up with a player, no matter the skill level, makes him easy to work with. I'll continue working with Coach rob, it's been a great experience so far!
