More About Coach Rob

My training experience began while at Pitt, where I captained the men's ultimate frisbee team and developed practice plans and workout sessions. During that time, I also coached the Hampton High School ultimate team, which was my first introduction to training youth players. After I graduated in 2008, I continued to run training sessions for the Pitt men and other area adult ultimate teams. In 2011, I branched outside of ultimate and began work as a trainer at Chris Anthony Fitness, where I led high intensity interval training for adults. Also in 2011, I held a weekly plyometric training class for students at Penn State Greater Allegheny. Most recently, I have been training Pittsburgh area youth ultimate players. I focus on strength, conditioning, and agility to improve players' games and reduce the risk of injury.

With the PItt men's team, I played at the USA Ultimate College Championships 4 years in a row. I have also been to the USAU Club Ultimate Championships 3 years with the DC area club team, Truck Stop. I played in the WFDF World Ultimate Club Championships in 2006 and 2010, both times with Australian-based club teams. I went to Italy in 2011 to play in the World Championships of Beach Ultimate with Team USA, where we won gold. I have played professionally in both the AUDL and MLU. I earned All-League honors in 2012 while playing with the Buffalo Hunters of the AUDL. And today I play with the DC Current of Major League Ultimate.

Each session will consist of strength, conditioning, and agility components to build on skills necessary to be successful in ultimate.

So far I'm really enjoying our training sessions and am definitely getting my moneys worth. I have noticed from week to week I am getting stronger and able to lift more weight and do more reps. One thing I've really learned is how to keep going when I'm tired and out of breath in that last point of the game that means the most. I love everything we do in the training sessions and honestly wouldn't change anything if I could. I have felt a definite increase in strength. Each week I feel better at lifting and I feel better with strength workouts at practice. I also have felt a good increase in my jumping ability. I would recommend it to teammates especially if we are doing the small workout groups.
I have noticed the improvement from our training. I noticed I can control my body more on cuts. I'm slightly faster and quicker. But most of all I noticed my vertical increased a good bit.
