More About Coach Robby
I started my coaching career in Colorado in 2020 at the club I grew up playing for (Pride Soccer Club in Colorado Springs, CO). The team was a lower-level team in the under 14 age group and the experience really spiked my interest in going further with coaching.
After moving to Arizona in 2021 I reached out to the club CCV Stars and was hired as a Pro trainer and assistant coach. As a pro trainer my job is to take teams every Wednesday and develop their ball skills and passing. As coaches tend to work on drills that involve the team as a whole the role of a Pro trainer is extremely important.
My age groups vary a lot as I am an assistant for 2010 and 2012 age groups.
I grew up playing club soccer and high school, receiving multiple rewards such as All State and team MVP my soph-more year. After this I went on to play in the academy system at Real Colorado and started to receive division one offers. While considering many schools I ended up committing to play at Clemson University in the ACC. After playing at Clemson for two seasons, I went on to transfer and play one season in the Pac 12 with San Diego State University.
Instead of playing my senior year of college soccer I chose to pursue my professional career in Spain through the help of a friend. As Spain is one of the best countries in the world it was difficult to break into the highest divisions. I played in third and fourth division while earning a starting spot in the fourth division team consistently playing every game.
I now play for Valley United the new professional soccer team in NISA. This is a good start at 23 years old and hope it is a stepping-stone to the higher leagues.
My sessions will revolve around the position the client plays, along with some specifics they want to work on. We will always start with some agility work to get the muscles ready to train. After this there will be ball skill work, passing drills, and usually some type of finishing on goal. Again, the sessions will depend on the players main position and what they feel their biggest needs are.
