More About Coach Rileigh
I have trained/coached girls from U8-U18. From 2016-2018, I served as the head varsity coach at East Union High School and as the assistant varsity coach at Manteca High School.
I have played soccer since I was 4 years old and finished my career by playing 4 years of collegiate soccer at Corban University. In high school, I received 1st Team All Valley Oak League Most Valuable Player. In college I held the role of team captain my junior and senior year. My sophomore season I helped lead my team to compete in the NAIA National Tournament.
Each player is a unique individual with distinct abilities, areas of strength, and weaknesses. I believe the most important part to planning a session is finding out what my client desires to grow in and discovering her current abilities.
Having said this, I believe each individual session is founded on mastering technique in fun and engaging ways.
I begin each session with a dynamic warm up to prevent injury and increase flexibility.
To finish off the warm up I move into juggling. Around 15 minutes using different size balls (tennis ball, size 1, size 5).
Then I move into a variety of ball manipulation/footwork drills.
Next, I focus on dribbling technique using a variety of drills and balls (tennis ball, size 1, size 5).
Then I move into a more specific area depending on the clients needs. This could range from shooting technique, passing technique, long ball technique, controlling balls in the air, etc.
Lastly, to finish off the session I have the player cool down and stretch.
