More About Coach Rickeya

I have trained volleyball athletes since 2012, beginning at the Volleyball Training Academy in Memphis, TN. I moved to Chattanooga for college and while living here I assisted in skill & fundamental camps at the YMCA where I also refereed at for 3 years. On top of this I kept the official scorebook for UTC’s volleyball team which helped with more knowledge gain. In Chattanooga I participated as coach for the club team Beastmode Volleyball. I am also a certified personal trainer and a kickboxing instructor where I train all types of people and athletes of all fitness levels. Being new to the Atlanta area, beginning this fall/winter I will be coaching a club team for the first time and excited to grow in that area as well

Although I did not play for the official volleyball team in college, I did play club for UTC for a couple of years. In High school i was the captain of my team for 2 years and made the All-State team both of those years.

We will start off the session with a 10-15min high intensity interval training warm up to build up some endurance and strength. Will vary between that and curcuit training. From there we will stretch it out and get ready to run through some drills to build agility and speed. Following up with that will be more specific training to position. Then always ending on some ab work because it is important as a volleyball player to have a strong core.
