More About Coach Reuben

I have experience coaching both adults and children. I have trained many players from beginners to more experienced players. I am currently coaching with FC Select. With FC Select I have coached the academy (age 5 - 8), U11 and U12 teams. I have also coached group sessions with adults who would like to learn to play soccer with adult soccer school (NY Coed Soccer). I have done volunteer coaching with meet-ups (prospect park-up soccer and Brooklyn Pick-up Soccer). The ages of players I have coached range from 5 years old to players age 50.

Coming from an athletic background, I have spent my whole life in sports. I played soccer in both an amateur and a competitive setting (played for Challengers FC). I have spent a good portion of my life in the martial arts and have competed in that as well. I currently am a head organizer at Brooklyn Pickup soccer (one of the largest soccer meet-ups in the city, that is geared for the more serious players).

A good session is designed to fit the needs of each individual player. A typical session usually begins with a light warm up with and without the ball. This is followed by a light stretch. The session then moves onto a specific focus whether it be dribbling, control, defending, etc. A brief cool down period and stretching to close it out.

Client Reviews

Coach is quite insightful. I often try not to get involved with my son's practice session. But my son who has been playing for sometime, on a competitive level, states that coach Rueben was the best coach he has had thus far. This was after 1 session.

Working with coach Reuben was great. I played soccer in college for Emory University and wanted to improve my overall game. Coach Reuben was immediately able to point out some of the flaws in my technique. He helped me to refine my skill and get a better understanding of the my position.
