More About Coach Renato

- Heading into my 10th year of coaching, I've trained players of all different ages/levels on the field, in the gym, and in a physical therapy setting; ranging from first year players to college and professional.
- Currently coaching: UCSD Sports Performance Coach (men’s/women’s soccer), Performance Coach at Rehab United Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy, La Jolla Impact, San Diego Youth Leadership Football Club, San Diego Jewish Academy middle school/high school boys.

College
- NJCAA Division I: College of the Canyons
- NCAA Division II: University of California, San Diego
Professional
- San Diego Sockers
- ASC San Diego

- My goals are not only to develop the player's technical skill on the ball, but body mechanics, as well. Working in a physical therapy and sports performance setting I have an extensive background in strength and conditioning, and functional training. I train my athletes in all three planes of motion and emphasize the importance of utilizing proper neuromuscular control (loading, explosive acceleration/deceleration, change of direction, speed, agility, etc) in order to strengthen/educate the athlete and prevent future injuries from arising.
- Sessions change on a player to player basis in order to meet the athlete's needs. A general outline of a session includes: warm up/movement prep, speed and agility, technical ball/strength work, isolated technical on ball, cool down and recovery.

Client Reviews

Coach Renato was very responsive, friendly, and great to work with. He worked with my 15-year old daughter on her goalkeeping skills and she felt like she got a lot out of the sessions. We wish we were in town longer to book more time with Renato!

Renato is a very intelligent player and knowledgeable about the game. Has a large amount of patience, and brings lots of passion and energy to each training session. A positive mentor to the players. Great to have him back working with the program.
