More About Coach Paul

I am a ski professional living in southern Vermont and currently offering private, personalized coaching and training for beginning to advanced skiers. My wife and I own and operate an organic vegetable farm and retreat here in the beautiful state of Vermont. So during the winter when I am not tapping maple trees, boiling sap to maple syrup or doing woods work or other winter activities, I will spend the day with you, your children or with any combination of you, your family or group throughout the day coaching you to ski better or ski in the first place. I am very good at what I do. I get results. You will ski better after skiing with me. I have been teaching skiing for over thirty years. I have been a full time ski patroler, skier and snowboarder over the course of that time. I focus on putting you or your children in control on your skis. I work with all ages. I am great with kids. (We have three of our own.) Parents.......THAT MEANS YOU GET TO GO SKIING while I am coaching your kids for the day or part of it. You will get more time for less! Some of my clients share me over the course of a week or weekend.

Hiring me to coach you or your children to become a better skier is smarter and safer than going it alone or with unqualified friends and it is a far better value for you than paying more to get less out of a ski school class or even a private. I will supply you with references. Please email me or call with questions, your goals or particular skiing issues or to make arrangements and reserve your time with me. Available weekends and mid week. I will meet you at a mountain of your choice in southern Vermont. Yours truly, Paul B.

Teaching is the art of communicating and transferring information clearly enough to another individual so that enlightenment to the subject occurs. As your ski coach, I will be your guide throughout our time together. I will help you practice correctly. Practicing mistakes is the fastest way stagnate and not advance. An effective coach knows that every person receives and processes information differently. Some want to think about the physics of slope, friction, velocity etc. Others just want to understand what they should do with their body to feel stable, and under control. My methods include imagery, example, exaggeration, in-motion follow & call out coaching, drawing, observation and discussion. Sessions begin with a quick evaluation. Workouts are different for every individual to match current ability level. A personalized plan will include working on fundamentals that may be missing or in need of improvement, coordination of body movements on appropriate and manageable slope and slow motion deconstruction of body mechanics. The goal is to reach noticeable improvement by the end of one session. Sessions include a full day 9 to 3 with lunch and warm-up breaks.

Client Reviews

Jack had a great time. Paul was great with the kids and Jack learned a lot. I can't believe he's skiing on his own so fast and he can't wait to go again.
Michael said it helped him a lot. He had more confidence in his turns after this lesson. He really enjoyed the lesson.
Sadye forgot some things that she learned and was having difficulty until she took the lesson with Paul. After a couple hours of lessons, Sadye was back on the slopes doing very well and ready to hit Blue trails.
