Numerous School Record - Book achievements, single bests, Runner of the Week awards, and top individual finishes were recorded, while making the change from the NAIA into NCAA Division III, in their subdivision.

Tech produced All - Independent First Team honoree and Association of Division III Independents (former) Male Runner of the Year Samuel Wietlispach. The women's number one distance runner emerged as a leading finisher at most meets, including 26th at The USCAA Championships and having an All - Independent First Team spot, and two other women earning Honorable Mentions, with AD3I and USCAA All - Academic member Brooke Bell, who was 29th at the national meet (courtesy of the Illinois Tech athletic department).

Staff collected The 2015 AD3I Men's and USCAA Women's Cross - Country Coach of the Year titles during the provisional season.

Preceding Chicago, he was with the Auburn University men's and women's cross - country and track and field teams as a Volunteer Assistant Coach during the 2014 - 2015 seasons.

Men's cross - country captured 3rd place at The 2014 NCAA Division I South Regional and SEC Championships.

Auburn had the men's individual NCAA Division I South Regional Cross - Country champion, SEC Runner - Up, and USTFCCCA South Region Runner of the Year, whose season best that fall positioned him number one in the SEC and finished first and second at the majority of meets.

On the Plains, the Tigers had runners who earned All - First and All - Second Team SEC status for the men, All - Freshman SEC team recognition for the men and women, and SEC Runner of the Week nods, USTFCCCA All - South Region, and All - Academic accolades with a perfect APR score for both squads and produced two NCAA Men's Division I Cross - Country Championships competitors.

AU men's cross - country team had a CoSIDA Capital One Academic All - District ®, SEC Scholar - Athlete of the Year, USTFCCCA All - Academic member, and held the highest team GPA among all athletic programs. On the recruiting side, an exceptional group was signed early for the cross - country and track and field programs in December of 2014 (per Auburn SID).

Women’s track and field was 28th at outdoor nationals. Auburn had several marks that placed in the AU Record - Book, were All - Southeastern Conference and scoring, and advanced to the NCAA Championships.

Its distance program developed a male track runner who won The 2015 Penn Relays 10k, was an Honorable Mention All - American, competed at The 2015 World University Games, and later in The 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Marathon Trials, while hitting an IAAF level as a post - collegiate.

Along with training and recruiting duties, he participated in compliance, finances, national home track and field meet management, program - coordination, R.A., and travel.

Before there, he was at another Ancient Eight institution, Brown University from 2013 - 2014, focusing on the women’s distance program as an NCAA Countable Volunteer Assistant Coach and contributed to administrative responsibilities and scouting.

The Bears posted several performances that earned a spot in The Brown Top 10 list with PRs and had an individual who earned Academic and Second - Team All - Ivy, and a USTFCCCA All - Northeast Region honor in cross - country, a scorer at The Indoor Heptagonal Championships and two at The Outdoor Meet, and a qualifier for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round in track and field.

Both men's and women's cross - country earned USTFCCCA scholastic recognition during the 2013 - 2014 season. One of the women's top distance runners went on to run professionally in Colorado on an Olympic Development team.

Coaching began at The University of Georgia as a Volunteer Assistant Cross - Country and Track and Field Coach and handled camps, clinics, departmental work, and recruiting tasks for the 2012 - 2013 seasons on their support staff.

Top performances were recorded during the 2012 outdoor season, placing 3rd for the men at The 2012 SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and 21st for the Lady Bulldogs at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Outdoor National Championships.

A women's DMR qualified for The 2013 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships and were 10th with the number two All - Time School performance, along with other NCAA indoor qualifiers for the UGA mid - distance squad.

They later concluded their year at 11th place at The 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Track had the Drake Relays champion and NCAA leader in the 1500 meters, and multiple student - athletes who garnered All - SEC and individual champion titles, All - Americans, and UGA records in 2013.

Athletes also qualified for The 2013 USA Championships and other world - class meets. Cross - country and track and field were both stellar in the classroom by posting some of the highest team GPAs that academic year for UGA athletics and having each of the squads earning individual and team USTFCCCA All - Academic titles from 2012 - 2013.

That season had the athletic department earning 10th place for The 2013 Learfield Director's Cup and also being one of the top 12 men's and women's cross - country and track and field teams for The Terry Crawford Combined Program of the Year Award, as well as several elite rankings.

Coach Palmer was an excellent coach. I'm a 33 year old runner without any formal training, and wanted to prioritize form for life-long running in the 1-10 mile range. I booked a session with Palmer to check my form and develop a plan for training. Palmer was extremely positive, knowledgeable, and affirming in his coaching. With Palmer's help I even crushed my mile run PR during the session by 15 seconds. Palmer also followed up after our session with a written training schedule. Would highly recommend!

Coach Palmer is very good at communication to schedule for the first session and during the session. We connected quickly at midnight and met for the first session the next morning. He is very nice, very easy to work with and has tremendous experience and knowledge. He observed my son's running form and immediately pointed out things to improve. He answered many questions I had and I hope to work more with him in the future.

I had an excellent first session with Coach Palmer and I booked more sessions to help with my long term goals. He is going above and beyond to support and keep me motivated well outside of the scheduled training sessions.

I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a running coach.

Coach Palmer provided great information in our session that we will definitely use during our training and recruiting journey!

Great coach! Knowledgeable, my daughter is very comfortable with him and great communication!

Coach Palmer spent time coaching me at the track to improve my 1.5 mile run time. He tailored my workout program and gave me solid insight on strategy, technique, and training. I would highly recommend booking a training session with him if you are looking to improve your general fitness or achieve a specific running goal

Coach Palmer definitely shows his expertise. As a true professional, he listened carefully to my past history of running and quickly recognized how I can improve my running. He has expressed encouragement and timely feedback both in person and via text. He has been willing to answer questions and provide sound instructions to reach my running goals. I definitely feel improvements in my pace and look forward to working with him to reach my goal of running a half marathon.

Had a great first session with Coach Palmer and can already tell his training will be very beneficial.

Coach Palmer is awesome. I hired him to assist with training for my military physical fitness test, and I scored 13 points higher. We met on running trails, developed a workout plan for endurance and speed, and did several practice runs. Throughout the week, he also kept in touch to ensure I remained motivated and focused. He is highly professional, committed, and engaged. I appreciate the feedback and support that I received while working towards my fitness goals. I definitely plan to continue working with him in the future and highly recommend him as a coach.

Let me start out by saying that I only needed to spend a few minutes with Palmer before I knew what a tremendous help he would be as I trained for the Marine Corps Marathon. Here is my story. As of this writing this, I am a 50-ish year old female who has very slowly run 26 half - marathons, 2 marathons (10 years ago) and many 10Ks and 5Ks. He was able to determine my level of fitness, accounted for previous injuries, and built a personalized training plan. I tried many running coaches and personal trainers before I met Palmer and couldn’t find what I needed. He really is the perfect coach! I am looking to shave a few minutes off my time and I want to be able to complete the marathon. Along with being knowledgeable, Palmer is very professional, personable, and encouraging. I am confident Palmer will help me cross the finish line this Fall. Maybe I’ll even set a PR! Whether you are just starting your journey or you’ve already collected a few medals, Palmer can help you step up your game.
