More About Coach O'Neill

For over nine years I’ve been coaching basketball at the high school and middle school levels. I was an assistant coach for Olympic High School for two years, the head coach for Community House Middle School for a year and assistant coach at CHMS for four years. Currently, I’m the assistant coach for the varsity men’s team and head coach for the junior varsity men’s team at Ardrey Kell High School. For six years, I’ve been focused on sports specific training and can work with ages 10 and up.

In high school, I played basketball for four years at local schools in Charlotte – one year at South Meck and three years at E.E. Waddell. As an adult, I was given the opportunity to try out for two European Basketball leagues. Since, then I continue to run for leisure with a personal best of 16:10 and an average of 4:36/mile in a 5K race. Additionally, I regularly participate in local charity races, triathlons and mud runs. I take my athletic performance very seriously and strive to develop my clients in the areas of safety, endurance, agility, speed and strength.

Each hour long session will begin with a warm up and stretch. The rest of the session will be geared toward developing skills such as shooting, dribbling, defense or conditioning. Some sessions will focus on all four skills.

Client Reviews

Unreliable.

He was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable. Shelby is looking forward to working with him.

Coach O was exactly what I was looking for in a trainer. Paying attention to the details of my mechanics and giving instant feedback. All our drills were game speed and attentive. I felt myself getting a little uncomfortable as they continued but that is exactly the kind of work that will make me better.

Very instructive and honest about what steps need to be taken for improvement.

My son met Coach O’Neill recently for the first time and it was great. Coach O’Neill was very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what my son needed to work on and was very straight forward with him. Which is what he needed to hear from someone who is experienced. He was very detailed on telling my son what he could do to get better at certain things. I highly recommend Coach O’Neill to everyone and will definitely refer him. Thank you Coach for a great first session!

Very knowledgeable. Great rapport with young people.
