More About Coach Musa

I have worked with kids of all age groups. I work with athletes between the age range of 10 to 21 year old. More specifically because of my advancement and experiences, I excel with athletes aging from 14 and up, who are serious about improving their skills and abilities. I work with kids who are currently playing in the Club, High School, and College level. Before moving to Virginia, I coached in a club known as CCV Stars, which is one of the top soccer clubs in Arizona. At CCV Stars I worked with kids from the age of 10 to 21 and my job consisted of running team practices for some of the club teams, doing one-on-one training sessions, and also organizing and leading camps within the club.

Originally from Nigeria, I grew up always playing football or as referred to here in America, soccer. When I moved to the U.S I started playing club soccer from the age of 10 and played club soccer until I moved on to the college. While playing club soccer, I also did two years of High School soccer. My junior year of High School, I won Arizona Gatorade player of the year and Arizona player of the year in 2015. Amongst many other accolades, this was among my highest achievements. Side note, if you type Musa Morris Gatorade player of the year on YouTube, you will see proof :). I have professional experiences and currently in the phase of looking for a professional contract. Some professional teams that I have been apart of so far include Phoenix Rising from Arizona who are in the USL level, Colorado Switchbacks from Colorado who are in the USL level, and FC Tucson from Arizona who are in USL league one level. USL and USL league one are second and third division professional leagues in the United States. In all my years of playing there are individual accolades and awards that won’t be listed here but can be asked directly and I will identify them.

As a current player myself, I believe I am adapting to the game of soccer and have first hand experience in playing the game. Players can expect a coach with experience and knowledge of the game and a coach who will work endlessly to ensure that my athlete’s skills and techniques improves as he or she works through practical and effective soccer drills that will help the athlete create good practice and in-game habits, maintain and or improve fitness and sharpness, and become a better student of the game. I believe that while it is important to physically play the game of soccer, it is also important to recognize the mental and academic aspect of it. Through my trainings, I will constantly work to educate and teach my athletes about the game and things that will help them become an overall better soccer player. My trainings are usually between an hour to hour and half long and I focus on every aspect of the game. I focus on techniques, ball control, passing, and understanding of the game. Depending on the player and position, my trainings are catered to helping athletes sharpen their own crafts and needs. I work with forwards, midfielders, and defenders and have drills specific to players in these positions. Although all my trainings are different and specialized depending on the player, my sessions usually consist of similar layout. Sessions begin with warm up without ball, then warmup with the ball, then main phase of the practice (focus of practice for that day), and then end with a challenge and cool down of the session. Although similar layout, each sessions will vary and have a variety of different drills and focus of skill sets. The sessions will always be purposeful and put together with the athlete’s needs in mind.
